Client Care: Expectations and Communication

Email Communication: I aim to reply within 24 hours during business days. If your matter is time-sensitive or a complex immediate concern, please include "Help" or “Urgent” in the subject line, and I will prioritise it.

Follow-Up Consultations: Follow-up appointments should be booked in for 6-8 weeks after your initial or prior consultation. This timeframe allows adequate observation of your homeopathic remedy's effects and supports a thorough assessment of your progress.

Healing Expectations and Protocol Delivery: Healing with homeopathy is a gradual process, as symptoms often reflect deep, accumulated imbalances. I aim for gentle, lasting improvements, which may take time and a layered approach to prescribing remedies depending on your unique journey.

After your consultation:

Within 7 days: You will receive your homeopathic prescription email, and remedies will be shipped upon payment of invoice.

Acute consultations: Acute consultations are for recent, short-term complaints. Homeopathic support for acutes can work quickly, though some situations need a follow-up or a change of remedy as things develop, so please stay in touch with me about how you are responding. Where possible, remedies will be sent the same day, either by us or by a homeopath closer to you. An acute consultation is not a substitute for emergency or urgent medical care. If your symptoms are severe, worsening quickly, or you feel unsafe, please seek medical attention straight away. I aim to respond to acute enquiries as promptly as I can within business hours. In some instances where acutes symptoms linger or reoccur, constitutional care and a full consultation may be needed.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule a consultation or package, please give at least 48 hours' notice before your appointment start time.

Cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled appointment will incur a charge equivalent to 50% of the consultation fee. No-shows forfeit the full consultation fee and will be invoiced for this amount if not paid prior to consultation.

Reschedules: May be made within 24 hours before appointment, once only. Any further reschedules require 48 hours’ notice or will be charged as per a cancellation.

Life happens, and I understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected circumstances arise. If something comes up, please reach out and let me know, and I will always do my best to work with you. Acute consultations are excluded from this policy. Whereby an Acute consultation is a no-show the full fee will apply.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability

This document is an agreement between Shani Hickman, Sagefolk Homeopathy, and the booked client (hereafter "Client"). By attending and partaking in a consultation, you hereby acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

Purpose of Treatment: I, the Client, understand that the goal of working with Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy is to support my overall health and wellbeing through homeopathy and, where recommended, nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Consent to Advice: I consent to receive advice and education concerning my health goals. I am aware that all treatment recommendations will be based on the information I provide about my health.

Responsibility for Wellbeing: I accept full responsibility for my wellbeing before, during, and after consultations and follow-ups, and throughout the course of my treatment, including all choices and decisions I make.

Disclosure of Information: I may be asked to provide information about my physical habits, medical and family history, behaviours, emotions, moods, energy levels, preferences, lifestyle, and diet. I agree to disclose all relevant medical conditions and understand that Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy is not liable for any new or worsening medical conditions. In providing homeopathic treatment, Shani Hickman relies on the truth, accuracy, and completeness of the information I provide. Any decisions to follow their recommendations are my responsibility.

Confidentiality: I understand that the information I provide is confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party without my prior consent, except as required by law or if I pose a risk of harm to myself or others.

No Guarantees: I understand that Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy cannot guarantee specific results from any prescription or protocol. I acknowledge that outcomes vary from person to person and that there are no assurances of achieving any particular health goal.

Medical Advice Disclaimer: I acknowledge that the information provided by Shani Hickman is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a licensed healthcare provider. The team at Sagefolk Homeopathy does not diagnose medical conditions, and their advice does not replace that of medical physicians. Services, including homeopathy provided by Sagefolk Homeopathy, are considered low risk; however, I understand it is recommended that I seek advice from a healthcare practitioner before making any changes to my health management. If I have a chronic illness or ongoing conditions, I acknowledge that it is important to be assessed by my healthcare provider. If I believe I am suffering from a dangerous condition or an emergency, I will seek immediate medical attention, and I understand that in such cases, professional medical help must be sought.

No Treat or Cure Claims: I understand that, as required by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), homeopathy cannot claim to treat, cure, or prevent any condition or illness. Sagefolk Homeopathy does not claim to treat any health conditions, and any such claims are prohibited. The services provided are for educational and supportive purposes only, and I am encouraged to consult a healthcare practitioner for any medical concerns.

Additional Recommendations: I understand that Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy may sometimes offer educational information and recommendations beyond homeopathy, such as nutrition, lifestyle, or supplement suggestions, for educational purposes only. These are not intended as medical advice or treatment, and I, the Client, assume full responsibility for any decisions to implement them, acknowledging that they are not substitutes for professional medical care.

Homeoprophylaxis Understanding: I understand that homeoprophylaxis is not equivalent to vaccination and is not recognised by governing bodies. It does not guarantee prevention of infectious diseases, and I knowingly accept this risk.

Side Effects of Homeopathic Medicine: I am aware that homeopathic medicine, while natural and holistic, has to potential to increase physical, mental, and emotional symptoms. I will seek medical treatment or psychotherapy if necessary.

Assumption of Risk: I accept full responsibility for my actions, health, and welfare. I acknowledge that Shani Hickman will not be responsible for my condition or wellbeing and will not be liable for any consequences thereof.

Liability Release: In consideration of my participation with Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy, I hereby release and discharge Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy from any and all claims, costs, causes of action, and damages arising from any illness or injury, including death, that may result from my participation in treatment, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

Voluntary Participation: I understand that my participation in therapies at Sagefolk Homeopathy is voluntary. I accept that I am ultimately responsible for my healthcare, and Sagefolk Homeopathy and its practitioners are here to support me. Practitioners reserve the right to determine if my case falls outside their scope of practice, in which case a referral will be recommended.

Acknowledgement of Risks and Waiver of Liability: I assume full responsibility for any loss, injury, claim, or damage incurred as a result of treatment. I, along with my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, agree to waive any claims against Shani Hickman and Sagefolk Homeopathy.

Client Consent for Services

By continuing with my booking and attending a consultation, I agree to acknowledgement and consent of these terms.

Changes to these Terms
Sagefolk Homeopathy reserves the right to update this Agreement at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to the website. Please review before each future booking.
